It sounds like you need a new battery. Steptoe Mar 15th, 06, 08:39 PM Interior light on? bright? or u may have left the door partly closed over night...Flat battery. Jump start with good heavy weight jumper cables...careful thu ..late model with all that computor junk?, use special jumper cables and follow thr instructions. Good old early model? just use jumper leads. + to + - to - The most common fault is poorly maintained battery terminals, earth connection and + connection to Starter motor. Once the car is started (battery partly charged) check each cell with a hydrometer (an el cheapo one from local spareparts shop) If 1 or more cells are dramatically different to the others...Battery has sucked a kumura (Kiwi slang for died lol) replace. GreyShadows Mar 16th, 06, 09:18 AM I have heard that Click many many times... I would bet that you need to clean and tighten your cables at the battery and at the ground (on the engine or body where ever your grounding your negative cable) and positiive post on the starter. This is especially the case if you hear the click and everything goes out for a few seconds (interior light, head lights etc).So take your cables off and clean all the connections with a baking soda and water mixture (i use a hard bristle toothbrush) 97maro Mar 21st, 06, 06:24 PM sounds like vats system 69mkitmine Mar 21st, 06, 07:09 PM I have heard that Click many many times... If this doesn't work get it diagnosed, dont throw a battery or alt at it trying to fix it, check it out and replace only what you need. A friend has an auto electric shop and nothing brightens his day more than to hear " I replaced the battery, alternator and the starter and it still won't crank." ...lets just say they don't get any discount on fixing their ground problem. |
