Well, if anyone is intrested, I have just installed the 4" Steel Cowl on my 69. I am just giving my opinion and you can ask any questions. Because I cannot post pictures I will have to email them if you need.

Goodmark claims thier hoods are a perfect reproduction.....wrong. It doesn't fit very well compared to a factory 2" cowl hood. I spent about 2 hours screwing around with minimal adjustments to make it fit. The back of the hood hits the cowl at the center point and no matter how much I tried, it still hits leaving the hood sitting high in the back. The only thing left is to "dimple" the hood in the center where the flapper would go. The lines down the fenders aren't equal and no matter how much adjusting, it will not come out equal.

I realize that no matter what, repro's aren't perfect, but either I got a bad hood or they just aren't that great. If you are thinking about getting one, be prepared to get aggrivated. They are only $400.00 but if you need the clearence you have no choice. I guess they are better than glass.

Again, this is just my opinion and like they say........everyone has one.

Bob, I hear you about Goodmark and the cowl hoods. I have the 2" hood and it was defective too. Anyways Ricks will exchange it for a new one so I have hope the next one will be better quality.
