Well it seems my paint/body guy got in a little bit of a hurry. My fault for pushing him to git r dun. Anyway my problem is I bought a RS headlight conversion kit from Classic Ind. and forgot to weld fender bracket in. Now the car is painted, finally 16 months. What is the best solution to attaching the bracket? I first had bought aftermarket rs fenders. They did'nt fit for crap so I took them back. And all I could find in decent condition was standard fenders. I did a search and and I think I saw some brackets that would bolt or rivet in. Does any one know where to get these? And how they install? Or even better anyway to adapt the brackets I have from Classic Ind.

I suppose you could try riveting the brackets you have, but my vote would be for welding. It sounds scary to weld on freshly painted fenders, but the area that the brackets welds to will be hidden once the headlight assembly is in place, and you could probably just spot paint it black once it ias complete.

Just my $.02...

Your best bet would be to rivet them in since the paint is fresh. Welding in will only burn the paint making it more noticeable. You can always weld them in the next time your car goes for paint which probably won't be for many years.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Sorry it has taken so long to get back to posting. I had to p/u the car from paint/body shop. VERY unhappy not at all what I expected. They did a nice paint job, but no attention to detail work. I will have alot of cleaning and some cut and buff work to do. As far as welding the brackets in I am not sure about that. I painted the car Black Cherry Candy. That is not an easy color to match. Although I think I have a little left over,I will have to take a look.
