I've been down shifting my T-350 to help slow my drum braked '68 down. I usally drop it into second around 35mph but have been known to do it at higher speeds. It has always been a stiff shift, not enough to slide the tires, but it was tight. Today I left the stop sign, flogged it through first, banged second, took second to about 6000rpm and let off the gas expecting it to slow down rapidly like it always dose. As soon as i let out of it it felt like it was slipping on decell. So the way it stands now, all the upshifts are firm like always, but the down shift from drive to second is soft, and second to first is still plenty firm. I knew it would only be a matter of time with me driving like a nut, but should I worry about it now? or wait until I tear the rest of the tranny out? Thanks, Phil
