I'm in the process of restoring my 69 and have noticed 2 holes in the rear body panel about an inch up from the bottom edge. They are down and to the left of the left side bumper guard mounting hole and are about 1/4" dia. and 2" apart horizontal. They go all the way through the inner panel and appear to punched rather than drilled. Is it somebody's hack job or am I missing something? Thanks for you help.

Those might have been fittings for air shocks.

any chance of a pic of that area? Im not following your description of the location very well, but Ive not had my pot of coffee yet either.

Can't get a pic until Moday. The holes are directly below the left tail light and are an inch from the bottom by the gas tank. They are side by side about 2" apart. I'm guessing somebody drilled for something but they look as if they were punched out. The holes are perfect.
