I am restoring a 68 that had drums all the way around. I am wanting to build the car with disc front, drum rear. I have already pruchased an original front disc setup for 68/69. I also just purchased a complete set of 69 SS steel wheels. The silver and black 5 spoke looking ones. I just read a few posts that say you have to run 15" wheels on all disc setups. Mine are 14' x 7" originals. Is this going to work? Did they not use these wheels on 69 Disc cars? Please help.
Thanks

Hi,

My car is an original 69 SS with factory front discs. It had 14inch SS rims on it when I purchased it.

When people say that they are using 15" wheels, it doesn't mean that you have to use them, but it is only a preference. Your 14X7's will work, it's just that you might have more clearance than with the 15's. If you like the look, stay with the 14X7's.

Think of this,..all SS's came from the factory with 14" wheels,..and in 69, all SS's had FDB's.

You're good to go.
