I tried installing my Lakewood bellhousing with the fork and throwout bearing in place this morning and ran into another problem. The TO bearing is already touching or maybe even slightly pushing on the pressure plate fingers. I have the TO bearing correctly seated in the fork. I have the top or the ball stud 4.75 inches to the block with the block plate installed. I am using the original correct GM clutch fork. I have a Ram powergrip diaphram clutch and pressure plate. What is going on? How much space should I have between the TO bearing and the pressure plate fingers?

Well, after further review, it seems that my Lakewood clutch boot is preventing the fork/TO bearing from moving away from the clutch fingers. :clonk: I took it off and have about 1/4" between the TO bearing and the clutch fingers, does this seem right? I might just have to ditch the boot, does anyone run without one?
