I did a search and didnt get all the info i was looking for. My left turn signal doesnt cancel. I bought a new cam for it but have no idea whats involved with putting it in. I assume i start by removing the steering wheel. After that i have no idea what im doing. :clonk: Is there anyone who could kind enlighten me beyond that. Thanks

Craig, Sounds like the canceling spring is broken. I did mine some time ago, on both my 67 and 69...Going by memory, if it is on the 67, is doesn't have the locking steering column, so it might be easier, I bet you don't need to replace the whole cam, just the spring, (change both)... once you remove the wheel, hub, and the horn contacts , you should be able to see the cam springs. Do a search on the subject and I bet you will find alot of info on this...Mike:)

Craig, I agree that it's not the cam but the springs on the turn signal switch. Over time they either break or weaken to the point they stop working. I'm not sure if you could find just the springs or if you have to replace the turn signal switch as a whole. When I did mine I took the springs off of a broken switch that I had lying around. Maybe they have the springs in the Help section at your local parts store......just a thought.

Tearing the upper column apart is really not too complicated. Just remove each thing you come to and remember or photograph it. Fortunately the cancel cam is pretty close to the underside of the wheel. If you have an Chassis Service manual it has a good picture and instructions. I have only a '69 manual so I am no help. You need a steering wheel puller to start. Maybe rent one at Autozone or Kragen auto parts.

Good luck...Mike:)
