I just recently purchased a 1997 RS convertible. This is the first car for me to own with the soft body panels. The 'nose' of this car is made with this material and I have noticed that it looks like it has bug junk on the front of it. When I tried to wash it off I could not get some of it to come off. Upon close inspection it looks like it has actually damaged the panel. It looks like small pits. Is this common for this type of material and is there a way it could be buffed out? It is really not all that noticeable, it just looks like bug glub on it. I have considered a bra for the nose also.....any thoughts on the bra???

I've owned my 96 RS since it was new and every year I get new marks or pitting on the nose of my car. I try to keep my RS looking new, but the front end is showing some signs of age. The front end sits low that every rock that gets kicked up from the car in front of you will hit the nose of the car. The only thing you can do is add some space between the car in front of you and your camaro. You could get the nose painted, but if it doesn't look too bad I wouldn't woryy about it. I've seen a few 4th gen camaros with the bra's on and I don't really care for the way they look, plus they are huge.

DenRS, Thanks for the info. I am still not convinced with getting the bra, and besides, it doesn't look too bad. We took the Camaro's to a Cruise-in tonight and the purple RS sure got a lot of attention, even with the front end like it is. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
