I am new to this and unfamiliar with Camaros. My question is can I install a factory air system on my 1969 car which did not have air,is the firewalls different or are they all bolt on pieces? Or is there a better choice then the factory air.
Thank you any advice is appreciated.

Best solution is a Vintage Air system, it will fit very well and they are very good on the support end. The firewall IS different and would require a new hole to support factory air, let alone vacuum diaphrams and the like. Finding a stock AC suitcase and under dash components would be very costly. Efficiency and reliability would be out the door.
Vintage Air will provide an efficient system that fits pretty well, is much more affordable, and gets cold/hot very quick, with all new components for a longer life. Might check out http://gpsuperstore.com/forum/ and http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/ for a Group Purchase to get the best possible deal.

Installing Factory AC would require a donor car and A LOT of work.
There are those generic vintage and hotrod air systems, and there is one PerfectFit system that is actually designed as a bolt in for a 69 Camaro.
It has Heat, Defrost and AC. Its 100% complete at about $1100.
Facory styled venting included. Classicautoair makes it and www.bought4less.com sells them.
They have the Perfect Fit system for dozens of models of cars. Including furds and slopars.
