Hi All, My dad found my camaro in 1987 and we scraped the money to buy it together, I sold 2 cows and my dad pitched in the rest for a total of $4,000. We had the motor rebuilt,a 350, and I drove it all through High school. I then joined the military-then college, now a family and I really want to fix her up. where do I start, I really am feeling a little overwhelmed, I also feel guilty, and excited I would like to spend most of the tax return on the car! thanks in advance.

Welcome to TC.

Before you do anything, get a plan together on what you want/are able to do, what you can afford to do, and the end goal for the car. Full resto, or build as you go? A schedule or timetable can be a good idea, but often times you cant be too strict with it as many unexpected things tend to pop up while building.

Dont want to go blasting into the car, then left with a pile of parts scratching your head trying to figure out what to do next.

TC can be one of your best resources. Anything you may have questions about, try the Search function. There isnt much about these cars that hasnt been discussed here at one time or another.

RamAirDave, thanks for the advice. I do need a plan. I am leaning towards getting the car running again so I can drive her. I started on her when I was in college and I took the interior out to clean it all up. I am just going to put it all in again so I can drive it. I shouldnt try to do the whole enchilada at this point. thanks again-
