Has anyone participated in the car auction at Carlisle? I am considering taking my 71 Camaro to sell and would like to get some feedback from anyone who has purchased or sold a car here.
Thanks,

I am considering taking my 71 Camaro to sell and would like to get some feedback from anyone who has purchased or sold a car here. Thanks, Real SS thorpe67RS Mar 20th, 06, 10:03 AM This is the first year they are doing the auction. 69ss350 Mar 20th, 06, 10:41 AM You didn't ask for anyone's two cents, but my opinion would be to wait, and have your car auctioned-off by a more reputable company, especially if you have a real nice car. I would think that the clientele wouldn't be Barrett-Jackson type material, and you'd get "schtupped". Good Luck........ KevinK7 Mar 20th, 06, 11:11 AM If you're thinking of selling, ...bring it to Spring Carlisle and put it in the car corral for sale (not auction). You don't have to sell if you don't get your price, ...but there's a lot of activity that weekend... thorpe67RS Mar 20th, 06, 11:11 AM Yeah i would agree with that. Tough to say what its gonna be like being the first year and all. But i am hoping there are some deals to be had being its the first year. As a seller though i would probably pass for now. thorpe67RS Mar 20th, 06, 11:14 AM If you're thinking of selling, ...bring it to Spring Carlisle and put it in the car corral for sale (not auction). If you put a real number on the car that lines up with what its really worth i would say you have a pretty good shot at selling it at the car corral. Realistic prices on cars their are becoming more and more scarce. A lot of people fishing in my opinion. At least from what i have seen over the past few years. kencar69 Mar 20th, 06, 11:43 AM If you do the auction, just make sure you have a reseve so it doesn't go for less than you will take. kencar69 Mar 20th, 06, 11:44 AM If you do the auction, just make sure you have a reserve so it doesn't go for less than you will take. By Sunday it looked like a firesale for the guys who really wanted to sell. I'm going to pass on the auction for now and just go with the car corral instead. Thanks, Real SS |
