i believe that i need to check and maybe replace the steering wheel turn signal cancelling cam. the turn signal will stay on for a right turn and operate correctly. for a left turn, the turn signal lever will not stay in position. it automatically "clicks" back to it's neutral position.

anybody have a good expanded view drawing of the steering column. how much disassembly do i need to do to get to the cam and turn signal lever connection?

i have the column out of the car since i wanted to clean it up some anyhow. on my way to check through my manuals.

thanks

When I bought my Camaro, it had an aftermarket Grant steering wheel which would do exactly what you describe. If you look at the cam, there is a spring on one side but not the other. I found a similar spring, shaped it the same (but opposite) as the one on there and inserted it in the same holes on the opposite side of the cam. This allowed the pin on the wheel adapter to hit each spring on each side and cancel accordingly. This may or may not help you with yours.

thanks. i did get it all apart, and haven't quite figured out what the problem is yet. i'll look at the springs.
