Changing the clutch on my 67 and the bell housing has cracks around the holes where it bolts to the engine.Any way of fixing this or do I have to buy a new bell housing? Are they still available?

If it is the older cast iron you make it into a decorative planter; and you do what you should have done years ago and buy a SFI explosion proof bell housing. Thanks for the great tip.I would add a big grin icon here if I could figure out how to do it. Stainless dog Mar 20th, 06, 09:18 PM Your bellhousing is most likely grade 122,355 or356 of aluminun, which is high in silicon content.A good welder can tig, mig ,stick and even alumium braze it.Silicon inhances weldability making these castings easy to weld. milehigh67 Mar 21st, 06, 10:03 AM Heck, I just got some JB Weld and repaired mine. |
