Well guys...old LD may have overstepped his level of skill. I use to tear apart old 350 turbos with no problem and throw them back together with equal ease.

Recently I took it on myself to rebuild the 700r4 in one of my old trucks. Wow. I'm feeling intimidated. Maybe I just don't have the confidence I once had, or this thing is a whole new animal. I am hoping one of you might be able to direct me to a site on the net where I might find reference material on this beast.

There has been very good luck for me in doing such things over the years. I have started and finished many overwhelming projects in my life, most of which I should have never even considered but have with god's help got thru them. A recent headliner failure(I gave up on that) and now this...maybe my hay day is over.

Any advice would be apreciated..

I used Haynes "General Motors Automatic Transmission Overhaul" book. Very helpfull. Never did a 700r4 rebuild before. Using the book I was able to rebuild the tranny in about 4-5 hours w/food and drink breaks. The # on the book is 10360. In my opinion the rebuild was very easy. Hope this helps.
