I have a 1996 R/S camaro and I was having what I thought was some security issues , the alarm was coming on when I opened the door and several other things. The battery went dead a few times so I replaced the battery and now the "service engine soon" light comes on randomly and most recently the APS INOP light comes on too until I turn off the engine. The CD player also is messed up, when I start the car it makes a sound like it is trying to eject a CD, (theres none in the player) and after a little bit, an "error" meesage appears on the radio screen. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

vicb99, maybe as a suggestion, go to a forum that talks more of newer Camaro problems. These guys here are just great, and you may get a answer, but it might come quicker somewhere else. I wish I could help more, but the new cars are pretty tough without the equipment, Mike.

I would start with the basics. 1st, visually inspect the battery condition & battery post cables & contacts, battery to chassis grounding ext.... Make sure they are clean tight connections. If not make it so.
Then move on to the Alarm wiring installation, check for proper chassis grounding, get your basic Multi-Meter out, and check for proper A+, Ign source connections as well as any other interface connections. I will bet it is slapped up under the dash held in there with tie wraps (if at all) and probably a few quickie scotch lock connections used for the interface. I have seen more improper scotch lock crimp jobs in my time than I can count. Seems to me that your basic car audio/alarm installer is always looking for the quick way to slap in the alarm.
FWIW, Last Summer I took my Explorer to a supposable professional Car Audio shop to figure out why My door locks would only work intermittently with my alarm remote.(Quicker for me to send it to the professionals (Yeah right) at that time than to check it myself). They determined it was the alarm. So they replaced it. $200.00 later seemed to solve the problem. 1wk later still is doing the same thing. I take it back and get this B/S story well it worked when we were done, must be something else. Since it seemed to work fine at that time they were going to charge me again to trouble shoot it again. And a, we can't get to it right now bring it back in a couple of days. I DON'T THINK SO!
So I find some time and take a look under the dash and just like I posted here, a B/S alarm installation. They did not even remove any of the old alarm cabling/switch ext.... It's all still there. Right now I keep kicking the new motion sensor when I apply my brakes, it is just tie wrapped on some cabling under the dash. When the weather gets better and I have some free time I’m going to get busy and take care of it myself.

Anyways as nikkisdad stated, this is primarily a 1st Gen Camaro site, and even though we are all Camaro enthusiasts here, we will try to help and or direct you in the appropriate direction for your situation.
Here are a couple of links I think might be more helpful for you.
