Does anyone know how many L65 Camaros were produced in 1969. This was a 350ci 250hp 2bbl engine. Produce started in April or May of 69. That is what my wife has and it is original. I am trying to make a portfolio for here with the history of her car and would love to find out more about this particular car. The car also has seldom seen DX 1 stripe kit from the factory. The restoration books still offer this stripe package. I have seen these stripes on SS camaros but don't know if they were original or not. Does anyone know about these stripes and if they were offered on the SS camaro. Thanks. Gerard

I owned one, a 4speed RS convertible with nearly ALL "SS" options

Bought it from the original owner who did not want a 4bbl, so she went down the perforamnce list and checked everything off

that engined sucked gas like a Cadillac

it was awful

she ordered quick steering (power), power disk brakes
special rear suspension, guages, positraction, deluxe interior, MANUAL top, wire wheel covers, endura,

that car is now a "factory" air conditioned big block SS, converted in the late 80's from no air and a small block

anyone that knows of a yellow/black car like that? I still have the order form

According the CRG RPO table (http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml), looks like there were 26898 RPO L65's built in '69.

Started production in Jan 69, RPO L65 was about 21% of engine production while it was being produced.....
