1967 CAMARO RS, 327 powerglide 10 bolt, factory black on black, deluxe black interior, rust free, 44K miles, Cali car. This car is all original even paint, no repairs, great glass and chrome! Car is disassembled. This car is the best unrestored survivor I have ever seen and is firm at $15,000. The car is located in Sandpoint.

I'm thinking of taking a look what do you guys think about the price.

Why would it be disassembled if it's a) rust free b) a clean survivor?

Assembled I'd see no problems with 15k.

I second both points

Why is the car disassembled? That tells me that the car is probably going to need paint and body work anyway. For that amount of money you can buy a project car and do a ground up on it for almost the same amount of money. If the car was in one piece and didn't need any work, then it might be worth the $15,000.

Ditto on the prior replys.
But I'm further confused; is it the best you 'have' seen, or the best you think you might see.

That was the advertisment in the local paper. Not my words, I haven't seen the car yet. It is quite a haul to that place and I don't want to waste my or his time if the price isn't in the ball park.

If that were the circumstance i would take 4 or 5 of them please. $15k for a first gen all together and done that needs no work is something you just dont see anymore. Maybe 3-4 years ago. However, there is only one way to know for sure and thats go look at it. But if your buying a car in pieces thats gonna need body work, paint, etc.. basically a project car.. 15k sounds pretty high to me.

i gave 5500.00 for my rust bucket one year ago. the vin numbers are worth that if you really want the car.

I co-workers husband just picked up a 67RS all original that only needs a bit of TLC. OK, not all original, but he was able to get the original PG from the tranny shop that replaced it. Still needs rebuilt.

$5,000.00... why can't I find those type of deals??? :(

I paid 5k for the car in my sig. When you buy a car that is in pieces, all the little parts are usually missing even if the person that took it apart was all about the details. It costs 5 times what you think to put one of these together and count on painting it.

I'd go take a look at it but be realistic. Most sellers aren't when they describe their cars...

Thanks for all the input. I know all about the cost to put these things together these days, I just finished a 2 year Resto on a 67 Convert. I called the guy he seemed pretty straight up but didn't give me that warm fuzzy it would take for me to drive that distance. I woke up the next day and said what the hell I will just go look. Called him and he just sold it that morning. So nothing gained nothing lost.

wrooster, your profile doesnt give a location for you. You mentioned Sandpoint in your opening remarks but there must be 100's of cities named Sandpoint in the country. :)

There was a 67RS restored in the Fresno Bee last week for $19,800.

I didn't look at it but the add pumped it up a bit.
