In reading many posts I see allot of people complain about the cap being slightly off. I had the same problem but it was an easy fix.
Get yourself a big set of tongue and grove pliers or whatever you call them, you'll need two people.
Hold the backside of the cap with pliers by the tabs that would lock on the filler neck, just hold so it doesn't slip, do not over squeeze so as not to crush it. It's easier with this side facing up.
Now the other person will hold the chrome finished side, twist accordingly to correct position when locked on filler tube. Takes about two minutes and it sits straight.
I recommend two strong people, wives and girlfriends might add frustration.
