get your qjet rebuilt and take the edelbrock back. ive had several edelbrocks all on first gens, but never had any success at all with them. not precise as far as tuning and need constant adjustment.

my guess it that the 2 wire plug goes to the mixture control solenoid
you have a feedback carburetor (for emission controls)

and cfauver is right, it will not work

Won't even bolt up. By the way its either 305 cubic inches or 5.0 liters not 305 liters. You get people like me (bigger is better) excited thinking about 305 liters or 18,612.2 cubic inches.

I thought I had a big block with 9.5 liter displacement.

Ive never seen an Edelbrock carb perform well against either the Qjet or the Holley. Everyone I know that has bought one has been disappointed. Nice looking carb though, just not a performer. jmo Kevin

Agree,..the Q-jet is simply a better design than the Edlebrock. And I'll go so far as to say that a Q-jet is better than a vac-secondary Holley.

I put a new Edlebrock Q-Jet on my 86 suburban about 8 years ago and it never ran better. The old Q-Jet was too warn out to rebuild again.
