just completed painting the outside portion of my 69 console. turned out great! I have a question about the compartment. i'm talking about the one that you open the lid to. Mine seems to have a felt texture in the inside of this compartment as well as the inside portion of the lid. Is this felt terxture factory or did somone over the years put this felt in there. It is like sprayed on. If this is factory is there any ideas on how to duplicate? I tried cleaning it up with some solvent and sometime over the years someone has spilled perfume in there. Holy moly,my hands smell like a french ......!door. I sure hope this stuff comes off before I go out with my buddies tomorrow!Please help with my question on this felt stuff, i will figure out how to get this stuff off my hands in the meantime! The felt texture is original factory finish. I think there are ways of duplicating it. I am sure it has been talked about in here before.
