Rob;

This was just recently discussed in this thread - http://www.camaros.net/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=005786#000001

You might want to try a search for 'omni' or 'ppg' to see if others show-up.

Local paint place recommended it for a repair - but I had heard of it on here and passed...

Take this for what it's worth. A gallon of BC competition orange in Omni is around 100. A gollon of the same color in RM diamont is over 500. I tested out the omni on an old hood and it is not very good.

I've used quite a bit of Omni paints, most of it's pretty good. If you need a solid color such as black, white, orange etc. it works just as well as the PPG urethanes, except on some colors you have to use more material to get the coverage(it's mixed thinner in consistancy).The metallic colors are so-so,most of them areslightly "muddy" so the color is not as sharp as the regular PPG line.The quick clear they have is also good. The epoxy is every bit as good as the PPG DP line, except it only comes in gray. A really great product is the MP282 hi-build primer-surfacer,when mixed with hardener only, it can be sprayed for a filler, much like feather fill, except it sands easier. I try to use Glasuit paints whenever possible, there is nothing else like it, in our area all colors are the same price $380.00 gal. even reds! I talked to the PPG tech line and its ok to use the Omni primers under the regular PPG top coats, except they said to seal with one of the epoxys, thinned as a sealer.
