My son had his camaro painted single stage PPG Black 4 years ago. It has been in storage. I am not trying to put everything back together. Is this a quality paint job? What is pros and cons?

I am by no means an expert on paint, but I see nobody has answered your post in a couple days. PPG is the paint manufacturer and single stage means that it isn't clear coated (like a base coat/clear coat).

My guess is that it is probably lacquer. The quality really depends on the prep work and the person doing it. If it looks good, then it'll probably last along time if proper care is given to it.

"PPG Single Stage" is a term most often used to describe DCC single stage Urethane. It is the 1 component equivilate of bb/cc.

There is no way to know for sure what someone might mean by using a non-specific term such as that, but I'd bet that was what the man meant.

If so, the paint is of very good quality if applied properly. It is the paint I put on my own Camaro.
