My camaro will either start or not depending on how I apply pressure on the key in the ignition. It takes some force applied to the key so it twists to get the starter to crank over. I was fiddiling around and found the way to get her to start. Should I get a new switch so I don't use two hands to turn the key so it bows correctly in there?

It would be a good start......No pun intended.

1/ drop the column 2 bolts under dash, check that the electic switch mounted on the column 1/2 way down is located corectly.
2/ if u turn the part of the column behind the steering wheel by hand does this make it easier? If so it maybe the adjustment under the car from the end of the column in the engine compartment to the trans.
3/The column has not been re assembled coorectly
4/ Also going with the above (3) the steering wheel has been removed by a wack instead of a puller, shortening the steering shaft.

I had a similar problem like this and I was able to disassemble the switch and clean the contacts and lube it with dielectric grease, works great.

The biggest thing to kill an ignition switch is a heavy bunch of keys.
Take switch out and take up to the local lock smith, for a few cheap bucks they will redo the tumblers and stuff inside
