I spent an hour today in the archives and couldn’t quite get the info I needed so here goes.
Long story short… I bought a set of Ralley Wheels, with tires (good tread left); trim rings and derby caps from a guy at a show last year. Said they came off his Camaro when he did a disk brake conversion. Never really put them on the car last year…
Had the tires demounted today in order to paint the wheels and found:
2 are 15x7 with 4 inch back space
1 15 x7 with 4 ˝ inch back space
1 15 x 8 with over 4 inch back space.
Lesson learned:
Take tape measure to car show
Take tape measure when buying wheels from guy
Take tape measure to tire shop
Look at wheels before placing in garage for winter.
Apparently I need to buy (at least) one wheel!
Assumptions:
Drum brakes all around.
Stock Suspension
1968 RS convertible
Mono leaf rear
What are the correct back space, front and rear for a 1968 drum brake car?
Can I just get one more 15x7 with the 4 ˝ back space and call it a day?
