When you say stainless steel lines, I hope that you aren't considering solid stainless steel pipes from pump to gear. You need some rubber in the lines in order to take up the motion of the steering pump on the rubber mounted engine relative to the solid mounted gear on the frame. Solid steel lines will fatigue and crack. Also, unless you are using a serpentine belt drive, you will need some hose compliance to allow the pump to be adjusted to tighten the belt.

All of the GM power steering connections from 1970 to 1980 used 3/8 inch OD pipe with 45 degree double flare ends. The nuts were male and were 5/8-18 UNF at the pump discharge and the low pressure gear outlet. The other nut is a male 11/16-18 UNS and is the high pressure gear inlet.

Yes I'm going with the braided . There's a male on the back side of this pump for the pressure side , a -8 will not screw onto it what would it be .

This is a pretty easy and fun project. You need to use Aeroquip TFE(teflon) hose and the matching steel fittings for the high pressure feed line. Regular AN (AQP) is not good enough. The steel TFE fittings anre not compatible with standard AN line. For the return line, you can save money by using standard braided rubber AN hose and fittings. -6 AN will be the correct size to use for everything. Not sure what type fitting your male end is on the your pump. Most I know of have a inverted flare fitting the same as the steering gear. Maybe you can remove it and use whats underneath? For the steering box you will need one each of the 11/16 18 and 5/8 18 inverted flare to -6 AN.
