I just got my Ron Davis radiator with dual fans. Where is a good place to mount the two relays for the fans. Also, where is a good place to install the temp sending unit. I was thinking about installing it on the intake. Is this a good place.

I am thinking about a radiator upgrade myself and was thinking about a Ron Davis. How do you like the Ron Davis rad fit? Are you still running the 502? How close are your fans to waterpump pulley? The reason I ask is, I have a 454 w/March serpentin pulley system. Also, Griffin rad with a Spal single fan. I believe it's a 16 incher. My single fan is off centered and it's about 1/4 away from pulley. Anyway, my car runs warmer than I like. 190-200 highway and don't even think about stop and go traffic. 220 time to shutdown. So, I was thinking about the RD. Did you get the overflow tank also?

I had no luck with a dual electric fan setup in my 502 Chevelle. The car ran way to hot 220-230 in stop and go summer weather. I tried all the usuall tricks 160 thermostat Edelbrock aluminum water pump new 4 core radiator. I swithced to a flex fan and the car now rarely sees over 200.

My 502 is not stock however, this could be a big factor, I have a large solid roller cam 10.5 compression and Brodix heads and matched intake. Not sure how much help a aluminum radiator will be but just consider yourself warned, if it runs hot try a flex fan. They don't look as nice and they are loud but they really do the trick!

WOW, I posted a thread on this same issue. I have a 502, Lunati, Team G, Aluminum heads and have the same prob. Running 190-200 in cool South Florida weather. I have 4 core with 2 -13 inch fans, (which are less than 1/8 from March Performance pulleys) My relays are on the core support in front of the battery. Sending unit is in the intake.

I made a plate and mounted relays hanging from fender in place of batt. which is now in the trunk.I had to mount sending unit in intake due to the fact that my head has no hole for sender.Ron Davis recomends mounting in head if possible.I have not had a chance to run car long enough to get to temp. yet.I am running a elect. water pump and had no clearence issues with fans but looks like it could get tight with a stock pump and pulley.

How about trying an engine oil cooler. I put one behind, (or actually in front of) my BB and with a, BE Cool BB radiator and the spal electric fans and the spal fan controller kit, I can sit and idle all day long at 160 degrees.
