Does anyone know if the underside of the hood is painted the car color or black? If black, what color black? I've been told both answers so i figured I'd ask the "pros". Thanks much for the help!!!

Well im no pro but all the cams ive ever had were black gloss black ive bought them and had to repaint them due to wear and tear!! but i have also seen them painted same color as body but usually the fire wall was also painted the body color as well i prefer black to match firewall, fender wells, radiator support, etc. it also makes a painted engine stand out!! like orange, or red blocks. what ever suits yur fantsy i guess? good luck!

My car was originally the Ash/Ivy gold color and that is the color that the underside of the hood is painted. It is old, faded and cracked and I am pretty sure that this paint is original.

Mine is painted blue and I don't think anyone painted it but I could be wrong.

You should post this in Body Shop and/or do a search there.

I don't post a lot, but I've been here almost 2 years. I know that this has been asked before. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice. You're right. I found the answer by doing a search in body shop. It should be semi-gloss back if anyone else wants to know. Thanks Again!!!

The underside of the hood is a semigloss black that has body colored overspray along the edges. This varies as to the amount, but it is tainted. No steps were taken to keep the overspray off, if the factory look is what you are after, thats correct...BKH
