I know there is a wheel fitment section but I have not seen a part that lists the largest tire/wheel width that will fit on a camaro with 15 inch steel wheels... 69 camaro, with a 2 inch drop in the suspension. Anyone have an idea??(biting the bullet and going back to a 15 inch since I really want the nascar rim look)

It will depend on the backset of your rims. I run Torque Thrust II 15X7 with 3
3/4 bs on front with P225/60R15 BFG's. Torque Thrust II 15X8 with 4 1/2 bs on rear with P255/60R15 BFG's. My 69 is lowered 2" and I have no tire rub.
