i bought a 69 ss 396 a couple of months ago. it is hugger orange (see pic if it worked). it has white hockey stick stripes and the back panel is blacked out as it should be. my ? is aren't the bottom of the rocker panels suppose to be black too? car orginally came with a black vinyl top so i am guessing the hockey sticks were probably black too on the showroom floor.

It appears that your car has the Z21 style trim group, so therefore I believe it should be painted black along the rocker panels. The line would be even with the points on the rocker mouldings.
The hockey sticks would've been black.

I agree with Dave.

My last SS with the Z21 had the black body sill. I did confirm this in the White Book.

Nice car! How did you get the pictures on to the website?

Hey mike,

I can't help you with your question but wanted to say you have a very nice car. Like my 350RS (SS clone) you have the L6 (6 cyl) hockey stripes (solid paint through the 396 emblem's). When the previous owner had mine painted they used a kit and shot them not knowing the supplier sent them the wrong ones... or at least thats what I was told.
