On what year Camaro...? Bigstick1973 Apr 4th, 06, 07:07 PM Im working on a 68. The way i understand it is im guessing i can as long as the rim and tire isnt to tall. But i think ill only be able to go 12 wide. 400bird Apr 5th, 06, 11:05 PM nope, 20" rims are not allowed. JK Leadfoot1 Apr 6th, 06, 05:52 PM what size tire are you planning? I just got some 345-25-20's and am going to a 20x13 wheels on my '69. Car will be "kinda" mini tubbed...Going with custom frame in rear because original would need to be cut too much to remain usefull. I'm also going custom rails because i want to really be able to drop the car. I've been told 335's (18's) clear minitubs (a la DSE) but not more than that as anything wider is too close. After all that work on your car you would go back and cut it up? COOL! I ran 31x14.5 on 12" rim on my 67 (minitubbed and it was rubbing everywhere even tough frame was notched...So to anwser your question. I doubt it (regardless of year as i had a '70 Z-28 and it didn't have much more room than my 67 or 69) Then again, carefull measurements and proper wheel/tire selection can do the difference, but when too close or in doubdt, its often better to be a bit smaller and enjoyable than BIG but a pain to drive or not good lookind because of limitation. Also it could become a VERY COSTLY error very fast (ride height, practicality, your resistance to tire rub are all limiting factors...) Measure twice, order once....Or get a sawzall! Lead. |
