Was it an option in 69 for the radio antenna to be mounted on the right rear if so what option package if any did it come with the car is thought to be an SS-350 4 speed but its an early january los car no (no x11). It has standard interior with woodgrain on the drivers side and the grab bar on the dash. Thanks

U73 was an option on all First Generation Camaro's except for cars fitted with the D80 Spoiler equipment. For 1969, 16,394 buyers opted for the rear antenna.

Yeah i just read that the rear antenna was not available with the spoiler and an am/fm radio and my car has both! Maybe a dealer install???

You'll find that you probably have problems with your antenna hitting the spoiler. I doubt the dealership would install the antenna on the D80 car; on the car that I had checked out, it had paint damage to the side of the spoiler from hitting the antenna each time the trunk deck was opened.

I have a 67 and need to lower the antenna to open the trunk because of the spoiler.

If that helps.

An early production 69 SS that I owned had a rear mounted antenna from the factory.I was told that they had leftovers from the previous year and used them up.
