I have been in a restoration project with my 67 RS convertible. After removing the subframe, I noticed some rust damage to the body mount holes at the rear of the subframe. The mounting hole for the body bushings has been deteriorated to some extent. The hole is not completely round and the metal is thin a the hole edges. It looks like I could get away with just replacing the bushings, but while the frame is out, I want to do things right.

Has anyone else experienced this? What is the repair and approximate cost?

Thanks for your advice

Bill, do a search on frame repair. I brought up this problem about a month ago and the guys gave me some good ideas.

You can go out and buy some 1/4 or 3/16 plate cheaply and make a patch panel which can be welded in. I did all the body mount holes on mine for $5 worth of metal.

1 1/2" flat washers work well.I used a torch to square the washers up some and welded to the underside of the mount, out of sight and worked fine.
