I'm about to buy wheels and tires for my 69 convertible. I have been advised by the company selling the wheels that I can run 18 x 9s on the front with 255/35 18's and that it will run 25" diameter. They also tell me I can run 18 x 10s on the rear with 275/35 18's, and 25.6" diameter. Both wheels are zero offset which means the backspacking on the fronts is 4.5", and 5" on the rears.
Also, I have Hotchkis sport springs on the rear which lowers the car about 1.5", and Chassisworks sub-frame and suspension on the front (with coil-overs) which lowers the front about 2".
Can I run this combo? The wheels are ROH RTs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

no, i would say the company is wrong
if they are sure about their suggestions, ask them to stand behind them and take them back if they dont work
but most here will agree that for the front 8" wide and 5" BS (some times 4.75) and a 245 tire about 25" tall
for the rears 9.5" wide and 5.5" backspacing and a 275 about 26 inches tall

400bird is correct! 8 is the norm in the front - with a 245/40-18 tire - there are people that have 8.5 with 5.25" of back space. Carl C is running 9.5s with 5.5" of back space but that requires some work like aftermarket control arms with adjustable steering stops. A 10" wheel in the rear usually requires some minor surgury also. The 275 tire will work - you may want to consider a 40 series though. The outter lips have to be rolled and the inner wheel house needs a little clearencing also.

I have 295/35/18's on the rear of my 69. You have to roll the fender lips, cut the wheel well trim, and nail the backspacing with a custom order wheel. This pic shows a good shot of the drop on the car. Also try this http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73160

4MuscleMachines - Nice looking car. What wheel size (and make) are you running? Your stance looks great, but I don't want to get into to cutting and rolling you had to do. Thanks.

Only the stainless trim is cut at the top of the radius and not the wheel well, the fender lips were rolled at the top of the radius as well...so no big deal to me. The wheels are Kinesis 3pc and the tires are 245/35/18's front (no mods wheels are 18x10) and 295/35/18's rear (18x10 wheels) with BFG drag radials.
