View Full Version : Ls1 booster and master cylinder
Midnight68 Apr 5th, 06, 10:50 PM Has any installed an LS1 booster and master cylinder on a 1st gen? I have C5 front brakes and am installing LS1 rears. My old setup was a manual setup, I was thinking about using an LS1 booster and master. Has anyone tried this, any problems with trying it?
Primer Apr 8th, 06, 01:02 PM i am also adding LS1 brakes to my coupe and will be using the donor Trans Am's booster and master. go to protouring.com and search under brakes. They have beat the master cylinder topic to death over there, alot of info and some other options also.
Midnight68 Apr 8th, 06, 08:15 PM Yea I have looked at a number of the posts. I cant find the answers to specific questions. How to mount the LS1 booster to the firewall and what to do about hooking the pushrod up to the brake pedal.
noels69 Apr 12th, 06, 08:35 AM I've done the full conversion with the LS1 booster and master. It works really well. I just emailed another member a few pics and some basic instructions. Send me your mail addresses and I'll forward the mail, if that helps.

Midnight68 Apr 17th, 06, 12:26 AM Noel's install is very clean and looks great. Over the weekend i started on my install. I decided to cut off the bolts on the LS1 booster and weld some metal onto the LS1 booster brackets and then redrill holes to line up with the original bolts on my camaro. That way I didnt have to cut the original firewall or take out the original studs.
67LSRS Apr 17th, 06, 08:20 PM Anyone get the pics yet?
Satistraction: How did you do yours? Also did you dig up pics of that crossmember yet?
