I have a 5 leaf rear spring and because of the popular left hand lean, I'm planning to replace the rear springs. My local dealer for springs says that he does not recomend the 5 leaf because it will make the car too high in the rear. He says use the 4 leaf. Anyone else run into this and what do you think?

I had the original 5 leafs springs in my 71 Nova. The car was kinda high. The drivers side was tweeked from a slapper bar, so I bought a replacement (5 leaf ) set on ebay. The car now sits about 2 inches lower. I think the ebay sellers name was tamraz.

I used 5 leafs off of a 74 Nova (rear end also)for my 67 Camaro.
My car sits a little high but tolerable and the ride is rough. The bright side is when I have my wife, son, and daughter along the stance is perfect. If I had 4 leafs I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to haul the family.

I went the 5 leaf route way too high!!! they were from a local spring shop so i cant say what the spring rate was. I ended up pulling the bottom leaf off and cut it to act like a spacer in the mount. The cars sits about 1/2 to 3/4 inch lower but rides much smoother.
