Didnt know where to post this. After stripping the original purple paint off our '67 we can see the original logo stamping of the steel company in 3 places on the panel. Is that cool or what!
The logo is a circle that says:
WEIRKOTE
Weirton steel company is in the center of logo in a bucket shape.
Outside the logo is additional printing:
COIL 82610
HEAT 10154
B3ES
I will try and post a few pictures.

The website says it galvanised? Are you sure it is an original tailpan? I didn't know it was galvanised, if so, why is my car so rusty?

Never saw that before. Must be from an end piece of the sheet roll. Manufacturer, raw material lot traceability and heat treat lot. You know what it is and where it's been.

It does look like it has some sort of treatment like galvanising on it. I will post a query and see if JohnZ know anything about it.
