Should there be a brake pedal return spring on a '69 with power brakes? Mine doesn't have one, so I'm just checking...
Thanks!

Is the return spring only used on the manual?

What do the guys do with hydroboost?

Yes, the return spring is only used on manual brake cars. I don't know that it would cause any problems if you used one, it's just not part of the power brake RPO illustrations.

Not needed for hydraboost.

The stock booster has a huge spring internally, no need for another one. An external spring may interfere with the reaction valve inside the booster. - Just a guess.
You DO need have the power brake pedal height lower than your clutch pedal, and use a brake light switch spacer bolted to the top hole in the pedal.

"use a brake light switch spacer bolted to the top hole in the pedal."

i have a 69 and converted from power drums to disc fronts/drum rears. there is a return spring in place. so i can take this out and not have any problems?

what does the "light switch spacer" look like?

It hooks in through the upper mount hole that your current pin is running through. It is kind of an L shaped metal doohickey that comes down in order to activate your brake light switch. If you do a search on ground up, ricks, or NPD I am sure they have a pic of one. I actually did not know this part existed when I did my conversion, so I just bent the brake light switch bracket to fit the new arrangment under the dash. Although this redneck method is not totally acceptable it will work.
