View Full Version : Cost to run at your local track
Rayzor Apr 7th, 06, 12:22 PM Our one and only track on the island is now shutdown permanently as of 4-2-06. On the last night over 500 cars were running! Now with no place to race its probably gonna be a mess.
If we ever get a new track built I wonder how much it will cost to run on a street night.
How much do you folks spend to get in on a street night? How many runs do you/or could you make if you wanted to?
We paid $8 to watch or race. Due to the tracks scheduled closing it was so busy this past few weeks. Most guys could only make 2-3 passes a night.

Neil B Apr 7th, 06, 03:17 PM $10 to watch, $20 to race. 3-5 passes on average. Maybe 1 or 2 more if you get there when the gates open.
Daytona Yellow 69 Z/28 Apr 7th, 06, 03:25 PM Grudge nites are 12.00 depending on when you get there you can make 6-10 runs
camaroman7d Apr 7th, 06, 04:41 PM Typical street nights/ Weds. night. car and driver $15 you might get in 3-4 passes if you get there when the gates open. If you get there a little later you can expect 2 maybe 3 passes. Lots of imports. They have a new rule that only cars 11.50 and slower can run on "strret night" I think that's silly.
On Grudge Night (there are about 6 or 7 a year) it costs $35 to race, $5 to watch.
Test and tune is $50 for car and driver.
Sorry to hear your track is closing down, hopefully it is temperary if not the cops will be busy chasing down the street racing.
68rs406 Apr 7th, 06, 04:51 PM About 25$ car/driver for test and tune, and steet legal. More for bigger events. Depending on the night and if theres a series race or not, you can get as few as 2-3 passes, and some T&T nights as many as you want. The later you stay the more runs generally. My cousin and I would go to T&T nights with his Vette and my mustang, and we would literally hot lap, sometimes 10 or more passes, I'd whip up on him all night long :D (wish he was reading this).
We have three tracks fairly close by, but ones in canada. all about 1-2 hours away, prices are similar. Our track in bremerton is an old school track, on an airport runway, and its a little cheaper.
That sucks about your track closing, these morons build houses around tracks, then bitch about the noise, etc., more and more a shutting down. Its hard to keep them open it seems, but they do lots of business. And people wonder why theres so much street racing :clonk:
Ghostbuster Apr 7th, 06, 05:24 PM $10 to watch..
$40 to race..
www.bandimere.com (http://www.bandimere.com)

KCIR Kansas City

Rayzor Apr 7th, 06, 07:45 PM Thanks Guys! Yeah I just finished my car, went to the track twice and now its closed!! Luckily for me my car runs on pump gas. I can only imagine how the guys with trailered race cars feel.
I guess at $8 to watch or race we were getting a deal, although our track was dated.
There are rumours of plans on a new racing complex but it has run into a lot of problems.

All the roundy round guys are upset because there are no plans for an oval dirt track. Instead it is asphalt. This has divided the racing community. I know several things for sure. 1)If they do build one it wont be completed for atleast several years.2)It wont be $8 anymore. 3)However its designed it wont please everyone.
Hopefully government officials step in soon. Street racing has already claimed lives and will only get worse without a track.
Thanks for the replies,
Ray
cd playa Apr 7th, 06, 09:17 PM That is to bad about Campbell's Industrial park closing. I remember good time back in the days. I dont remember what we paid doe.
Good luck with the new track.
Joe Harrison Apr 7th, 06, 11:07 PM Our track on Friday test and tune and grudge races is $10.00 and that's to watch or run. You can make as many passes as you can between 6:00PM and 11:00PM I have friends that make 10 or more at least. I see others only do 2 or 3. The track is 1/8th mile in the boonies 25 miles from my house and about 80 from Little Rock. Some nights the place is packed and if the niegboors don't mind they will run until people leave. Not many nieboors to worry about as only about 6 or 7 people live near the track and have free passes year around.

Rich69RS/SS Apr 8th, 06, 08:41 AM At Irwindale on Thursday night (TnT) it's $20 bucks the race and $10 to watch, if you get there when the gates open at 4 pm you can get in 1 or 2 more runs after tech and the track starts running at 5 . I can get in 4 to 5 runs before I load up at 8 pm and go home after that it's a sea of imports. At LACR it 's $20 to race and $5 to watch and they run Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
