Hi all,

What is the doohickey that attaches to the booster and hangs just below the master called? The roundish one, not the square one.

Mine is old and cruddy - are replacements available?

Are they rebuildable?

Are they necessary?

I'm getting ready to instal a new booster and MC, and would like to clean up/rebuild/replace whatever that thing is called at the same time.

(apologies to who'sever picure I hijacked)

Thanks,

Al

I forget what they call it, but there was a post a few days ago with a link to something called pirate jack's, and he had them.

Actually a metering valve, but it is often called a proportioning valve.
Go to [back to album] on your link, and then 'view slideshow'. Stop on whatever you find of interest.

Thanks for the info. Great link. I musta got it from you!

Looks like it can be done away with without any ill effects - also looks easy to clean up and/or rebuild. Mine's frozen solid.

Al, I "think" the hot setup it to replace that entire mess under the master with this http://www.piratejack.net/web-catalog/pages/PV2_jpg.htm
It's a combination valve out of a 197x car. THere is info on these on pozzi's page as well.

Just order the brake metering/proportioning valve from a 1979 T/A with disc /drum or if you have 4 wheel discs order the 4 wheel disc valve. The valve shown in the link is exactly the same one used on a 79 T/A. The WS6 valve looks the same but the internals are slightly different.

The Metering Valve kit is $129 from Classic Industries, I bought it a few weeks ago with a 20% discount ($103). Comes with the bracket. Its made by Right Stuff so if you go to Right Stuff's website they have it slightly cheaper ($79 + $25) if you didn't have a discount code.
