Guys...need your help. Any of you out there put a LS (LS1,2,6,7) into a late 70s Camaro?

How did you mount the front motor mounts or is there something out there with mounts available?

Thanks for your help.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/ or http://www.pro-touring.com/ may be a good place to search for that.

Steve, you may also want to give Jeff at Classic Chevy 5-Speed a ring. They are in the middle (maybe done) doing this install in Jeff's 2nd gen.

They took it my shop, and we made all the brackets to allow for a true bolt in. Just call us for the needed items here at the shop.

in the may hot rod, there was a story on a new aftermarket LS style block with old style motor mount bosses.
I think they said it could go close to 500 cubes.

That block is a World Products block I believe. $4K for the bare block. You can get an SLP 402 CID Shortblock LS2 aluminum block for $4k. As far as the motor mounts there are several companies that sell them. Go to LS1Tech.com, they have a whole forum dedicated to swapping LS series engines into just about anything. They can get you going on the parts and vendors to deal with. You will probably also need to do something about the oil pan as well. I know on first Gens they need to be notched.
