Does anyone know how the front parking lights on a 67 ss/rs fit together? It looks like there is just a bracket with two stamped nuts holding it together. My problem is that the whole thing is lose and the bulb for the directional is very dim but when I hold it tight to the body it works fine so my guess its a grounding problem. The other side is very tight and secure no problems. I tried to take off the nuts to see if the hole unit would come out but one of the nuts just spins and I was running out of daylight to see what I was doing. I could not really get a close look to see if that was all that was holding the light there.

It sounds like the either the housing or the nut is striped and is not holding the parking light housing tight against the lower Valance panel. You need the bracket to be tight against the body for a good ground. You also need the housing to body gasket (black one) between the body and the housing so it fits tight. Try a different nut if you can get the old one off. I forgot if the housings have threads or barrel nuts. If it is threaded, you will need to rethread the housing or at least clean them up.
