Keith,

Does the car have the original engine? If so, check the pad stampings on the passengers side just in front of the head. Let us know this and we can go from there...

Keith, unfortunately in 68 there is nothing on the cowl tag or vin that shows the car is an SS. If you have the original build sheet or POP (Protect-o-plate) you'll have better luck. I'm sure you'll get several other replies on this one. Like you said, nice car no matter what! Good luck!

to find the POP you get lucky, or so it would seem, some people find them in the trunk, or fallen into one of the quarter panels. if you had a Van Nuys car you might be able to find the build sheet on top of the gas tank but no such luck for those of us with Norwood cars.
I'm pretty sure you could order the stripe with any car so that's not determiniative of SS. SS was the engine that was in it. if it was an original BB it was an SS or you are SUPER lucky and got a COPO (but thats very doubtful) if it was a small block it would have to have been a 350/295 to be SS but without the origianl engine there is no way to tell definitively without a build sheet or POP or something else that delineates the options that came on the car because there was a 327 /275 (L30/M20 I think) that had the duel fuel line. but as I am getting way over my knowledge I'll let the others give you the definitive answer. or you can do a search, probably in tag team for 68 ss, there should be lots of info there.
