Hi team,
What was the original carb in the 1968 SS with a 350 and did it have a choke? I'm restoring an almost numbers matching car, but it's got the wrong carb.
Thanks

If it is an automatic it would be a Rochester 4MV 7028212 and for manual trany it would be a Rochester 4MV 7028212. Both of these would be a divorced choke.

Thanks,
What was the cfm on the quadrajet? For a Sunday driver do you think I should stick with OEM or go with a bigger carb?

I'm a Sunday driver with a 68 SS/RS 350 with OEM Rochester 4mv. I have no complaints with the way my car runs. -Joe

Manual transmission models end in an 'odd' number sequnce.
The correct number would be 7028213

I just spent 6 months looking for a Rochester 2027213 for my car. Ebay is always a source, but I found a guy in PA with hundreds of these carbs. Dated Components: he has a small web page at classicjunkyard.com. I would try him if you want one with a good date code for your car.

750 cfm. If you can get one tuned right, a quad can be an excellent carb for both Sunday driving and hard core performance.
