The vin stamping by the oil filter is pretty illegible- looks like E D 2793 or something like that.

All the info I have seen says 1973 "Chevrolet" but I'd like to get a bit more specific. When I bought it I was told it was out of a Monte Carlo SS...

CWL = 1973 454/250 with auto trans. That code was used only that year.
