I cant decide if I want to go with a Currie 9" rear or a Moser 12 bolt with axle retainers? Whats the pros and cons of those. I'm running Baer rear disc's but I have the 9" axle mounts if I decide to go with the 12 bolt so thats covered. The 12 bolt with the pan looks better back there when and if you see it. The 9 is allot stronger though? Decisions, decisions. Help me out a little here.
Thanks,
Mike

I don't know what you are doing but you shouldn't have any trouble with either one. The 9in allows easy gear changes if you decide to go on a 500mi trip or such.

I like the look of the 12 bolt too. But like Oger said, it makes swapping out gears alot easeir. A Moser 12 bolt should be plenty strong for a street/strip car imo.

If you are buying all new, I'd go 9" hands down. Reasons being, 9" rears use no C clips, safer, no need to use C clip eliminators or different housing ends, so no trick hard to locate parts or leaky eliminators. Ease of gear changes, and readily availabe parts. The 9" has to be about the most common rear end out there, 12 bolts are getting fewer and fewer.
Strength wise, either will work fine for you.
So, as much as I like keeping our chevys all chevy, I'd go ford with the rear axle, since your going all new anyway.
