Why in the heck am I having trouble finding one at AutoZone or AdvanceAuto. Can anyone give me a part #?? There website tells me its 85820 but thats for 1971 and later...

I know that #TL25 is correct however it may not be available in your area. I would either bring in the old one and try to match it or order the correct one form the Camaro parts houses.

Another problem is that my socket only has 2 wires. Why is every other 3 wire? I'm not getting it...

The replacment socket has three wires one is for a external ground.

I got one at NAPA, they had both. I think cost was $6.95.

Ditto on the Napa deal. Be warned, they don't fit in the housing as well as the originals do. Right JimM. :)

I had to pick another rear socket for my '67 and this one fit a whole lot better than the one from Napa. This one is secure and snugh. The manf is CALTERM and the PN is 08562.

Most of the replacment sockets that I have seen were plastic junk. the part I posted back in april is a metal one. Even the rear harness kits I have seen had the cheap plastic socket. Is that the case with the new CALTERM part # 08562. Just testing the fit of the plastic socket in a friends car, one of the ears/tabs broke off. I told him to return it .

It's one of the white sockets. They had 2 other brands along with this one. It looked beefier than the other two. It snapped tight into the housing.

I found mine (2 wire) at o'rielly. about $5 a peice. fit ok, but not factory
