Hi all.

It there such a thing as an L-82 powered Z28 made in 1978? I was told that there was and didn't believe the guy. If it does exist is there anyway to find out how rare of a car it is? Any input on this would be great. Thank you in advance.

No such thing, L-82's were Corvette only. 78 Camaro is proabably the LM1 motor which is a 4bbl 350. Probably the same as you would get in a 1/2 ton pick up. Corvette also had the stock L-48 but in these years I don't think there was much difference. The L-82 was a different animal, more compression, and it's own camshaft. Still a 4 speed 3:73 z/28 ran pretty good for the era. Easy to improve. I had a 79 w/4 sp. It's too bad Chevy didn't have the L-82 as an option for the z/28 it would have been sweet and probably would have run high 14's with some tires.

The L82 engine was used in the 1973 and 1974 Z28.

I forgot about those..........I remember looking at a 74 z/28 back in the day like 20 years ago and they were claiming it had a factory 400 small block. I didn't believe him.
