Welcome to the site. This forum has more knowledgeable people about 1st gneration Camaros then you will find anywhere. The moulding you ask about is held on with clips that are attached with screws. They are on the ends, behind the doors, and under the cowl vent panel. This moulding is stainless steel and the dents can be hammer and filed out. Sandpaper will remove the finer scratches and then buffed to restore the shine. There are people that will provide the service, but it's not cheap. I found one in New York, don't remember the name, he wanted $200 to do the 5 peices of the front. Too expensive for me. I did my own and it wasn't that bad. It's tough to put a file to the stuff the first time, but the scratches do come out.

Use a wooden dowel that you sand the end into a slightly rounded shape. That prevents you from accidentally making a new dent with the rim of the dowel when you are tapping out the old one.
Tap is the key, you would be surprised how little it takes to tap it back into shape. Then file out any marks, and sand out any file marks, and keep moving up in grit to about 2500. Then buff out with a cotton buffing wheel on a grinder, and jeweler's rouge from a good hardware store. I also saw it at Northern Tool.

I had one dent in the crease of one of the pieces, and I had to make a special "tool" by bending a nail into a curve and using the edge of the head in the groove to knock out the dent.

As I recall, I did windshield, back glass, and drip rail moulding in two afternoons.
