Sometimes, not always when turning into a parking space to the left or a driveway to the left (when your foot is on the brake) the low trac light comes up and you have to press hard on the brakes for the car to stop.

Normally the brakes work fine and the light does not come on. Only when turning left and not everytime, it is becoming more frequent.

sounds like it may be a bad abs sensor,

sounds like a problem I had, I had a small leak in the master cyllinder on the underside. Its something I missed on a quik general inspection but big enough to cause problems.
